A break through of sunshine on a cold February day provided the perfect backdrop for an energetic, vibrant and uplifting day at Silverstone, courtesy of Mission Motorsport.  We were delighted to be amongst those invited to support the Organisation’s Troop Track Day and National Transition Event.  Supported by over 70 companies and with 500 service leavers and veterans in attendance, this was a unique approach to transition.  Focussing on the journey of transition rather than the destination of future employment, company representatives were in the main veterans themselves, providing attendees with confidence, a reality check, candid advice and suggestions for getting the right help.

The ‘Mission Automotive’ initiative was developed by Mission Motorsport in partnership with the Royal Foundation, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and the MoD to help companies develop and deliver their own Armed Forces Engagement strategy.  With a wide spectrum of forces friendly organisations present on the day, there was a plethora of hands on support available to service leavers and veterans mixed with an opportunity to listen to inspirational talks by Sir Chris Hoy, Ed Stafford and Ben Saunders……..and naturally an opportunity to experience the Silverstone track in one of over 100 supercars and race cars.

As part of ‘Support and Heart’, we were grateful of the opportunity to work alongside and increase our network of partners and support agencies doing great work in support of the Armed Forces Community – Mission Motorsport, Rugby For Heroes, Team Rubicon, Flying For Freedom, Endeavour Fund, Heropreneurs, The Ripple Pond, High Ground, Project Recce, RAFBF, RBLI, The Poppy Factory, Campaign Force, SSAFA, Vets UK, Defence Transition Service, Career Transition Partnership, Office of Veterans Affairs.
